I have owned my Sporto since 1996. I swapped out the 3spd with an older 4spd. My big problem was that 3spd uses an electronic speedometer and the 4spd did not. To get around this I got an older Speedo and had it refaced and the needle replaced to mimic the 77 version.
My big reason for getting my car was that I wanted to drive a manual without using the clutch. I was paralyzed by a diving accident in 1990 at the age of 17. At that time, my doctor said I would probably be able to drive a van... Well I proved him wrong.
