When it arrived here 14 January 2009 the temp was only about 15 degrees F. I managed to drive it about four blocks from where the enclosed trailer dropped it off (it couldn't get down my narrow side street) to my home. Since then we have only had two days with temps above freezing. With all the salt on the streets here this winter, this car is not going to leave my garage or driveway for some time.
In any case, I did start it up and back it out of the garage so that I could tidy up a bit. After that, I drove it back in and snapped this not-so-great mobile phone photo.
Nice
Looks cool, different with the steel wheels.
Color must be rare too?
The color
Not so rare, really - it's supposed to be Irish Green. The car had a respray some years ago and the paint is lighter and yellower than the original. Still I've seen a number of Irish Green 356s, 911s and 912s over the years and there's a lot of variation among them. The paint is in good enough shape for a driver; perhaps if I still have the car when/if I turn 50 I'll treat it to a bare metal respray in the original darker, bluer Irish Green.
It's interesting that the car came with steelies along with the "S" appearance package. Pity it wasn't ordered with "S" brakes. I intend to drive it on those wheels and tires this year while I learn to master driving the car. I'd like wider rubber; however I'm not sure if I want to move up to 15X6 or 15X7 Fuchs, 15X6 or 15X7 Minilites, or find some 15X6 steelies and have them chromed.
